The VERB Kind’s Ms. Green, who volunteers in the city of Ocala, was selected to be honored by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice as an outstanding volunteer.
Ms. Green was honored on Youth Success Day, April 15 at the Florida Historic Capitol Museum Senate Chamber.
“Ms. Green has consistently gone above and beyond, offering her time, encouragement, and heart to youth in the juvenile justice system. Her mentorship has played a key role in reminding young people of their worth and potential,” The VERB Kind stated in a press release.
The VERB Kind is a nonprofit organization that mentors incarcerated youth through weekly visits, community collaboration and leadership development. The VERB Kind has teams across the state of Florida.
The Ocala team, where Ms. Green serves, goes beyond weekly mentoring each week and coordinates worship services, staff appreciation meals and have brought local leaders into the program to speak to the youth.
The nonprofit organization was awarded a grant as a part of Florida’s Responsible Fatherhood Initiative and is a part of the statewide network of resources available through Father First.
