Empowering Boys to Become Successful Young Men: The Impact of No Longer Fatherless

In the heart of Volusia and Flagler counties, No Longer Fatherless shines bright for boys growing up without father figures. The nonprofit stands as a pillar of support, by recruiting, training and matching mentors with young men aged six to 19.

Through one-on-one mentorship, No Longer Fatherless offers a safe space for participating boys to grow, learn and develop essential life skills. The mentors help the young mentees with everything from academic to emotional guidance in order to improve performance at school, leadership, decision making, career development, community involvement and more. Over the past five years, the organization has supported 60 mentor-mentee pairs.

In 2023, No Longer Fatherless was awarded a grant through Florida’s Responsible Fatherhood Initiative. With this funding, the organization aims to expand its mentorship program and double the number of mentors and mentees within two years.

An inspiring story coming from the program can be seen of Taylor and Nathan on YouTube and most recently on Spectrum News 13.

Through dedication, compassion and collaboration, No Longer Fatherless is reshaping the narrative for at-risk youth and empowering boys to become successful men.
